The Argentinian government is committed to supporting the reconstruction of Bahía Blanca following a devastating storm that caused significant damage and 16 fatalities. The Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, announced that the province of Buenos Aires and the municipality of Bahía Blanca will be responsible for developing the reconstruction plan after the storm that hit the city. He indicated that the National Government will provide economic support in this process.

In a radio interview, Francos emphasized that the planning for the reconstruction falls on local authorities, although the President supervises and gives guidelines for this task. He highlighted the importance of the private sector leading public works, holding the previous administration responsible for the consequences of natural disasters.

The Chief of Staff pointed out that the National Government will be present to offer the necessary support and collaborate as much as possible with the reconstruction process of Bahía Blanca. He stated that 10 billion pesos were delivered in response to a request from the provincial Minister of Government, Carlos Bianco, and expressed openness to discuss new topics within his competences.

Regarding the possibility of a new disbursement, Francos commented that they will observe how funds are managed at the provincial and national levels. He assured that the Government is committed to collaborating with the affected province and municipality, and mentioned that President Javier Milei is considering visiting the city at the right time to provide emotional support to the community.
